To become a teacher, people normally need a degree level qualification, such as a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Education (BEd) or Bachelor of Science (BSc).
The Registered Teacher Programme allows individuals to qualify as teachers while they are working in a school, if they have completed two years' higher education or equivalent: it suits mature people with the commitment to work, train and study at the same time.
