The first Virtual School Library for London School Librarians has gone live. Rather than being a library for pupils and teachers, this is a resource and collaboration base for those responsible for school lbraries, especially with respect to the use of ICT.
The LGfL recognises that School Librarians have an important role in an age where immediate access to information through, for example, the Internet, is an accepted part of education.
The site has been set up to support School Librarians in this process.
The LGfL is carrying out a London-wide project investigating the continuing professional development of School Librarians and gathering views on how their CDP in ICT will lead to enhancement in London schools use of information technology (click on 'School Librarian CPD Project' for more).
