There are a wide range of roles available to people who can help run and maintain efficient and effective systems, from answering the phones to balancing the books.



School Business Manager

School business managers (SBMs) sometimes known as bursars or senior administrators) play a crucial strategic role in schools, making the most of the available resources to ensure teaching and learning get the financial support they need.

Administrative assistants

Administrative assistants provide vital office support, from answering phones to ordering stationery, entering data on computers to filing paperwork.

Secretaries

School secretaries play a crucial role in the day-to-day life of a school by providing a wide range of administrative support to keep everything running as smoothly as possible.

Examinations officer

The key responsibility of an examinations officer is for the administration, organisation and smooth running of public examinations.

Finance Officer

Finance officers often act as line managers to accounting or finance assistants, clerks and can work across one or more schools with various school staff. They will  have oversight of the basic accountancy functions at the school:
